Trial in a vehicular murder case stemming from a crash last spring could come later this year or early next year.
Potential trial dates for Adonis Dailey of November 25, December 16 or January 13 were announced during a pretrial conference in Lyon County District Court Friday before Judge Laura Miser. A motions hearing is now set for 2:30 pm October 9 followed by a trial status conference at 4 pm November 20.
Dailey was originally charged with single counts of first-degree murder and flee and elude following a crash that killed one man in late April of 2023 near the Emporia tollgate on the Kansas Turnpike. An alternate flee and elude count was added to the list of charges at the request of prosecutors back in late July.
The crash was allegedly the result of a supposed chase involving the Kansas Highway Patrol. Dailey was allegedly driving at speeds at or above 125 mph during the chase.
