Fundraising is off to a good start as part of a new venture benefiting Beacon for Hope Suicide Prevention.
Chest Bumps for Charity raised almost $500 leading up to and through the Emporia State football season opener at home against Washburn. The idea is rooted in a celebration where Emporia State football sideline reporter Tagan Trahoon chest bumps offensive lineman Carlos Guzman after every Hornet touchdown. Trahoon and ESU Distinguished Alum Mike Law say things took a rapid turn during the Live at the Hive Kickoff Party.
Trahoon immediately thought of Beacon for Hope as the beneficiary. Beacon Director and founder Melissa Owen was pleasantly surprised to learn this isn’t just a one-time thing.
