Classes begin soon for Newman Regional Health’s Stepping On program.
Classes will start Thursday and continue weekly through Oct. 10 at the Emporia Senior Center. On KVOE’s Morning Show recently, nurse Abby Hogan said the program covers a lot of ground as it works to help residents avoid falls.
Falls can lead to serious medical issues, like broken hips or head injuries, and they happen more often than a lot of people may think. The ultimate goal of Stepping On is to give residents the tools they need to not only avoid falls and the connected medical issues but to live independently as long as possible.
Sessions go from 1-3 pm. Classes are free but space is limited. For more information, call Newman Regional Health at 620-343-6800 x21043 or go online to newmanrh.org/steppingon/. The next set of classes will be held next spring.
