The Emporia High girls tennis team returns three players from last fall that’ll look for more in 2024.
Junior Kali Keough returns as the Lady Spartans’ No. 1 singles play. Keough placed fourth in 2023 at state and is one of 25 players to watch in 5A according to KSHSAA Covered. Keough said she wants to focus on the goal she’s set for this season.
Also returning for the Lady Spartans are juniors Kinsley Heins and Peyton Chanley, who will make up the No. 1 doubles team. Chanley and Heins played together as sophomores but did not qualify for state. Chanley said the duo is ready for this season after putting in work during the offseason.
