With Match Day interviews beginning this week on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia, the Emporia Community Foundation is encouraging area groups to consider another method of generating funds for projects.
The annual grant application period is now underway through Sept. 30. The Community Foundation is looking for applications from community groups in Lyon and all surrounding counties, especially those designed to “fund innovative and creative community projects” in categories like cultural affairs, education, health, recreation and social service. Funds are for projects on hold because nonprofits don’t have the funding to move them forward, not for ongoing projects or operating funds.
Last year the Community Foundation approved around $26,000 in grants. More information is available online at emporiacf.org.
Match Day interviews on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia will run Fridays through Oct. 18.
