Newman Regional Health is starting a sports medicine program — and doing so this week.
Certified Athletic Trainer Justin Clark is now part of the Newman Medical Partners Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Team. Alongside Dr. Jordan Willis — just announced as Newman Regional’s new orthopedic surgeon earlier this week — a brand-new Sports Injury Clinic begins Saturday and runs weekly through Nov. 2. The clinic will be near Entrance C, or the hospital main entrance, on a first-come, first-served basis. Student-athletes must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Willis played collegiate soccer at Manhattan Christian College before getting his biology degree from Kansas State University and later attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine. His experience includes time at the University of Kansas-Wichita, Mississippi State Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center and Tulane University Sports Medicine Institute. He specializes in elbows, hands, hips, knees, legs and shoulders.
Clark received his bachelor of science degree in Health Promotion and Athletic Training from Emporia State University in 2003. He has spent the last 18 years as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Memorial Health System and Abilene High School.
