The city of Emporia has announced a partial street closure for the upcoming weekend.
Peyton Street will have northbound traffic blocked between Sixth and 12th because of the city’s annual Street Rehab project.
That closure takes place as work continues on Road F between US Highway 50 and Road 180. Street paving is well underway. The work turns Road F into a three-lane curb-and-gutter asphalt street, including new storm sewer and a hike-and-bike path, after decades being a two-lane gravel road.
Road F work could be done this fall.
