The Trusler Foundation has announced its latest round of grant recipients:
*Camp Wood YMCA: $10,000 for its Feet Up campaign
*Lebo Parks and Recreation Board: $5,000 for Ye Olde City Park renovation project
*Emporia Arts Center: $5,000 for its Art Scape campaign
*Emporia State University: $100,000 for its Nursing + Student Wellness center
*USD 252 Southern Lyon County: $10,000 for safe and secure entrances
*The School for Rural Culture and Creativity: $5,000 for HVAC and storm windows
Grants are used for a range of projects — charitable, educational, literary, religious and scientific — in Lyon, Chase and Coffey counties. Funds support projects worth a minimum of $10,000.
The foundation is managed by ESB Financial in conjunction with the Emporia Community Foundation. It is named after the late Harold Trusler, a nationally-known grain dealer who was active in civic and community affairs, including leading several community groups and serving as a vice president of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
