Emporia Fire had a busy time between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning.
Emporia Fire/EMS responded to an injury crash at the intersection of Roads 110 and P shortly before 11 pm. Fire Capt. Michael Nunley says a vehicle driver suffered minor injuries after the vehicle hit a cow. The driver declined a hospital trip afterward, but the cow was killed.
Firefighters then went to the Hillcrest Apartments, 400 West 15th, at 1 am after a fire alarm. Nunley says a resident left a pan on a stove, causing some smoke but virtually no damage.
