The intersection of South and Prairie is opening, but not quite as quickly as first thought.
The Lyon County Highway Department says there was an unspecified breakdown at the APAC asphalt plant, so the goal now is to reopen the intersection Thursday. The goal was to open it to traffic Wednesday.
Milling and overlay started Tuesday. City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says residents needing to drive around the work site from the south can use Road 160 west to Road G. Drivers on the north side of the work zone can use West Sixth west to G and then turn south to Road 160.
