Pretrial and arraignment is next on the schedule in a Lyon County mistreatment and theft case.
As part of a hearing Thursday, Juan Diego Romero-Hernandez was set to appear Oct. 22 before Judge Jeff Larson.
Romero-Hernandez was arrested in late July and charged with one count of mistreatment to the tune of $1,500 to $25,000. He was also charged with one count of theft with the same financial range.
Lyon County Undersheriff John Koelsch says an investigation started developing shortly before Christmas as a woman said she was called by a man claiming to be a bondsman and needing money to get her relative out of jail. The suspect then received cash from the victim shortly afterward.
