Emporia State’s Theatre Guild is returning.
The revived support organization will have an ice cream social Sept. 22 to reintroduce it to the community. There will also be performances from cast members of the 50th anniversary Homecoming musical “She Loves Me.”
The guild paused operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and has restarted after work by Theater Director Aubrey Wilson. The Guild is being led by Jean-Ellen Kegler, who is returning to Emporia after a 24-year absence, which had included teaching at Sacred Heart School and operating Windbreak Productions — but also time as a choreographer, director and lecturer for ESU Theatre.
The ESU Theatre Guild ice cream social will be at 4:30 pm Sept. 22 at the Sauder Alumni Center. Wilson will discuss the event and organization at 8:45 am Tuesday on KVOE.
