Rollers will undergo a physical transformation soon, and the building’s new owners have announced special activities this upcoming weekend.
“The Last Skate” will take place Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will have a kids skate from 12-4 pm, followed by middle and high schoolers from 5-8 pm and adults ages 18 and up from 9 pm to midnight. Everyone is welcome from 2-6 pm Sunday. Cost is $10 per skater and $3 per “watcher.” Concessions will be open.
Dusty Spaulding, Logan Blow, and a pair of world-class Bulgarian wrestlers have come together to purchase Rollers, Emporia’s roller-skating rink for over 50 years, with the goal of transforming the location into The Best Wrestler, also moving operations of E 24/7, Emporia Ju-Jitsu Academy and Spartan Boxing Club from downtown Emporia to the new location.
