Students at Emporia State University will benefit from the Music Department’s annual Gala Benefit Concert held Saturday, regardless of whether they are majors, minors or just like to perform.
The annual concert brought around 400 people to Albert Taylor Hall.
Junior Elizabeth Schaefer is involved in a lot of different ensembles, so the related scholarships definitely help.

One of the annual highlights is the induction into the Frank A Beach Hall of Honor. This year’s honoree, was John Ericson, an Emporia High and Emporia State graduate who has been teaching horn at Arizona State since 2001. Besides also holding degrees from Indiana University and the Eastman School of Music, Ericson has also released three solo CDs, has received several awards from the International Horn Society and is a co-founder of the online magazine Horn Matters.
