Thunderstorms didn’t reach severe levels Friday night, but they caused some issues as they moved across the KVOE listening area.
Storms caused close to 75 Evergy customers in Emporia to lose power, along with a handful of Flint Hills Rural Electric customers in far west Chase County.
The other issue was halting a number of football games, not all of which will continue:
*Emporia High was leading Coffeyville 14-12 when the game was halted at halftime. The game will resume at 5 pm Monday at Welch Stadium. KVOE’s 5 pm hour of news and information will start at 4 pm ahead of our football coverage.
*Burlingame led Madison 44-16 at halftime. The game will resume at 5 pm Monday in Burlingame. Coverage will be on Country 101.7 FM and KVOE.com.
*Lebo led Waverly 20-6 after one quarter. The game will resume at 5:30 pm Monday.
*Mission Valley defeated West Franklin 46-0 in a game called at halftime.
*Northern Heights defeated Hartford 32-6 in a game called at halftime.
*Osage City defeated Wabaunsee 28-6 in a game called at halftime.
Rainfall totals as of 6:30 am:
*KVOE studios: 0.20 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.14 inches
