As ValuNet continues its rebrand to Sparklight, the company had to handle a significant local outage Tuesday.
Local issues were noted around 10:30 am, including Internet and phone service, and soon went across most of Emporia. It took until around 1 pm before the outage was resolved.
The cause is unclear at last word. It is also unclear if the Emporia outage is connected to others reported Tuesday by Sparklight customers in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina.

1 pm Tuesday: ValuNet city-wide outage restored; Cause still undetermined
The cause is currently unclear, however, ValuNet has restored service to customers across Emporia following a major outage Tuesday morning.
The outage was first noted around 10:30 am and effected the entirety of Emporia. The outage was restored nearly two-and-a-half hours later just before 1 pm.

Customers of ValuNet Fiber may be experiencing issues with connectivity Tuesday.
According to ValuNet representatives, the company is experiencing a “city-wide” outage which developed around around 10:30 am. Word on the cause of the outage has yet to be determined, however, employees are working to restore service now.
