The Kansas State High School Activities Association has released its classifications and enrollments for 2024-25.
After being the largest school in Class 5A for 2023-24, Emporia High is now the second largest in the classification with an enrollment of 1,283, two less than KC-Harmon, which is the largest school in 5A.
There were no changes in Class 6A and 5A. Areawide, there were no changes as well. Area schools in Class 3A include Council Grove (229), and Osage City (217). In 2A, Lyndon (123) and Chase County (118). In 1A, Olpe (103), Northern Heights (101), Burlingame (86), Madison (69), Lebo (63), Hartford (53), MdCV (53), Waverly (51) and Hamilton (31).
Statewide changes include Hayden moving up from 3A to 4A. In Class 3A, Scott City moves down from 4A, while Belle Plaine, Garden Plain, Jayhawk-Linn, and Riverside move up from 2A. In Class 2A, Douglass, Bluestem, Phillipsburg, and Rossville move down from 3A, while Doniphan West, Oswego, Solomon, Sylvan-Lucas, Udall, Wichita-Central Christian Academy, and Yates Center move up from 1A. In Class 1A, Ellis, West Elk, Lincoln, Meade, Oxford, Sedam, and Wichita Independent all drop from 2A.
Numbers affect all sports except football for this academic year.
