Second-year Emporia State head baseball coach Brad Hill has hired two new coaches for the 2025 season. Scott Camien is the Hornets’ new hitting coach while Anthony Caenepeel is the new pitching coach. Camien spent last season as the hitting coach at Cowley County Community College where the Tigers went 43-18 a season ago. He previously assisted at McPherson High School and spent 11 seasons as the head coach of El Dorado. Camien played high school baseball at Seaman High School just outside of Topeka and went on to play collegiately and Allen County Community College and Arkansas State. He then transferred to Emporia State for his last season and earned All-MIAA honors. Caenepeel comes to Emporia after five years at Kirkwood Community College. There the Eagles led their conference in ERA each of his last two seasons. The Missouri-native played collegiately at Northwest Missouri and earned All-MIAA honors including being named the MIAA Pitcher of the Year as a senior in 2017. The Hornets finished 21-29 with an 11-22 MIAA record in 2024.
