The Emporia State volleyball team saved three set points to win 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 27-25 over Northwest at Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo. Saturday. ESU was held to just .095 hitting in the first set but hit over .300 in each of the next two sets to take a 2-1 lead to the fourth. ESU built a 5-point lead, but the Bearcats scored five straight late to earn three set points at 24-21. E-State responded with three-straight kills by Rayishon Jackman as part of a 6-1 run to end the match. Jackman finished with 23 kills to lead three Lady Hornets in double figures while also leading the team with 18 digs. Brailee Bogle tallied 48 assists to go along with 15 digs. ESU (9-3, 1-1 MIAA) finally holds their home opener Friday against Pittsburg State. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
