Flint Hills Animal Advocates held its popular Spay-ghetti and No Balls Dinner on Sunday.
Residents drove up to the Lyon County Fairgrounds Cloverleaf Diner to pick up a meal and raise funds for emergency animal care. Longtime group spokesperson Deb Ghere says this has been a busy year.
The group made nearly 30 pounds of spaghetti, along with two roasters and a crock pot of meat sauce. Beans, breadsticks and dessert were part of the meal.
Ghere says Flint Hills Animal Advocates is now getting into full swing for its participation in the Emporia Community Foundation’s Match Day later this fall. Conversations are underway about additional fundraisers and community events.
