Blitzing is happening for the next few weeks when it comes to football. It’s coming later this week for the United Way of the Flint Hills.
The annual Small Business Blitz is Tuesday. Six two-person teams will visit about 60 local businesses, all of which have already been contacted. The fundraiser has generated up to $10,000 for the United Way in years past.
Chief Executive Officer Daphne Mertens says this gives local small businesses a chance to add to their employee donations while giving them more information about the United Way’s work. And she says it’s important work.
Fundraising continues through early next year for the 2024-25 campaign. Proceeds benefit over 20 community partners that serve all or parts of eight counties.
