An Emporia woman was involved in a crash that killed a Wichita man early Monday.
The crash happened shortly before 6 am at the junction of Kansas Highway 96 westbound and 151st Street West, about four miles north of Colwich. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Monica Dawes was driving a semi that was stationary at the intersection and facing south. A westbound van driven by 34-year-old Joseph Clementi of Wichita left K-96 for unknown reasons, went into the median and hit the trailer of the Dawes truck.
Clementi was killed. He was not wearing his seatbelt. Dawes was not hurt.
