Earlier this year, Emporia State University announced a new role for Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Shane Shivley. The university is now into a national search for Shivley’s replacement.
ESU is working with Chartwell Partners, an executive search firm, to lead the search. ESU Search Committee Chair Denise Kruse says the university is looking for “an exceptional leader who will foster a culture of philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and competitive spirit, engaging alumni, friends, and donors to support Emporia State University’s mission.”
ESU says the Foundation president and CEO will lead a team of 25 members working to secure and bolster annual, major and planned gifts from people and organizations.
The Foundation added over $9 million in new scholarships and helped ESU decrease student fees for this academic year.
Shivley, meanwhile, is reporting directly to President Ken Hush as Emporia State’s Senior Director of Development, working on what the university calls “large-scale, impactful projects,” as well as relationships and economic development. ESU alum and former Trustee Gary Allerheiligen is serving as interim President and CEO.
