What to do with the Lee Beran Recreation Center is among the focal points for an Emporia Recreation Commission Rec Center Steering Committee meeting Wednesday.
Committee members will discuss usage options as the board continues working towards a new facility at Champions Landing. Wednesday’s discussion will also touch on preliminary designs for the new center, with talk about community engagement and upcoming procedural steps also taking place before the meeting ends.
Last month, the Steering Committee selected Champions Landing over Jones Park and Jones Aquatic Center. Processes are working towards architect renderings before Christmas and a special election on a sales tax funding mechanism March 4.
The meeting is at 3 pm at Mary Herbert Education Center.
