In a lot of cases, plans need time to develop — or, in the case of Chad “The Breadman” DeCrow, rise.
DeCrow’s plan of having his own storefront officially comes true with grand opening activities this week at Breadman’s Bakery and Friends of the Farmers Market Store. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 11:30 am Thursday.
DeCrow says this is an idea several years in the making.
DeCrow shared space with Vault Meats and Cheeses at 509 Commercial for several years, but he began taking over operations after Vault owner Becky Mishler closed down the charcuterie business.
DeCrow says bread will be a featured item, but the goal is to have locally-sourced, locally-made food as wll as crafts, plants and other items available.
