Fire destroyed a house in Admire this past weekend.
Crews from Allen-Admire, Miller and Reading responded to 200 East Sixth, near the corner of Sixth and Ivy, shortly before 1:15 pm Saturday. Allen-Admire Fire Chief Tharon Mott tells KVOE News the house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and the fire ultimately burned the house to the ground. A dog was killed and a cat was treated for possible smoke inhalation, although nobody was hurt.
No cause has been determined and an origination point is pending. Mott says the Salvation Army was called to help the family.
