The Royals had just three at bats with runners in scoring position, but took advantage of a fantastic start by Cole Ragans to win Game 1 of their American League Wild Card Series 1-0 over the Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Md. on Tuesday. A Maikel Garcia walk turned into a run as Bobby Witt Jr. picked up his first career postseason hit for Kansas City to score the only run of the game. Cole Ragans (1-0) went six innings and struck out eight allowing just four hits. That included back-to-back strikeouts in the bottom of the fifth with runners on the corners to escape a jam. Ragans was pulled with cramps in his left calf. Lucas Erceg picked up a four-out save for the Royals. The Orioles wasted an eight-inning gem by Corbin Burnes who struck out three while scattering five hits but took the loss. Game 2 of the best-of-three series is tomorrow with first pitch at 3:38 p.m on 1400 AM and 96.9 FM KVOE.
