An Emporia man accused of aggravated battery and other counts after an alleged incident this past spring will have a sentencing hearing next month.
Emanul Cornejo reached a plea agreement with prosecutors, pleading no contest Wednesday to one count of aggravated battery. Other charges, including interference with law enforcement and criminal damage to property, were dismissed.
The charges followed an alleged incident in the 700 block of Sylvan in early May. One person was taken to Newman Regional Health with suspected serious injuries.
Sentencing is Nov. 20.
