A diversion hearing has been scheduled in the case of a man accused of aggravated burglary.
Michael Hourel will return to Lyon County District Court Oct. 25 after a hearing Wednesday.
Hourel was charged in July with aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault, battery and criminal damage after an alleged incident at The Villas, 1839 Merchant, in late June. At the time, Emporia Police officers say a woman residing at the complex woke up and found an unknown male in her apartment. The man allegedly pushed her against a wall and covered her mouth. The woman says she screamed, which woke up her husband and sent Hourel fleeing.
The diversion hearing is Oct. 25. Diversion sets the stage for criminal charges to be dismissed if a defendant completes a supervised program and fulfill a list of conditions.
