The Emporia High cross country teams sent runners to Winfield on Thursday.
On the girls side, three Lady Spartans finished in the top 20. Bailee Van Sickle finished ninth with a time of 23:08.19. Leanna Lewis finished 13th (23:35.15). Connely Prouse finished 19th (24:13.35). Ariella Macias finished 24th (25:09.44). On the boys side, Bryce Heinen finished 35th (20:40.90). Evan Bennett finished 54th (22:29.06). Neither team fielded a full team to record a team score.
Emporia High will travel to El Dorado next Saturday.
