The Salvation Army of Emporia is working to move financial donations to areas devastated by Hurricane Helene last week.
Capt. Mylie Hadden says people can bring checks to the Salvation Army offices, but you can also donate through the Salvation Army online — and money is a much better donation option than items because the funds can be used as needed and there are shipping costs attached to donated items.
Volunteers are needed, but they need to go online for emergency disaster training.
