Visitors to Sacred Heart Catholic School Friday evening could see fellowship at its finest.
The 51st annual Mexican Supper fundraiser saw right around 4,000 tacos prepared and sold throughout the evening. Father Carter Zielinski of Sacred Heart Church says feeding so many visitors requires an “all hands on deck” approach.
He commended the school’s staff, students and families who all stepped up and played a significant role of some kind to help make the event possible noting the event is a prime example of the power of fellowship.
Several hundred hungry residents took advantage of the dine-in and carry-out options available to enjoy their delicious dinners which consisted of fresh fried tacos, rice, chips, salsa and a dessert. All proceeds from the Mexican Supper, as always, will go to benefit the Sacred Heart School PTO.
PTO representative Megan Tajchman says the Mexican supper is a major tradition for everyone in the community and one that only seems to grow each year. She credits the continued growth of the fundraiser to the fact that it is an event that welcomes all members of the community.
