One person was hospitalized early Saturday afternoon following a vehicle cyclist collision in Emporia.
The accident occurred at the intersection of South Avenue and Market just before 1:15 pm. According to the Emporia Police Department, an individual riding a motorized bicycle, originally reported to KVOE News as a motorcycle, was crossing South Avenue through an alleyway and failed to yield the right of way.
This led to the cyclist being struck by an eastbound pickup truck. The cyclist was taken to Newman with undisclosed injuries.
Nobody else was hurt in the accident. Names have not been released.

One person was taken to Newman Regional Health early Saturday afternoon after a vehicle and motorcycle collided in Emporia.
The accident was reported just before 1:15 pm at the intersection of South Avenue and Market according to Emporia Fire. A full crash narrative is pending, however, the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
