Jury trial is set for this month in a Lyon County attempted murder case.
Travis Westcott faces a two-week trial starting Oct. 15. Westcott is facing over 20 counts in Lyon County District Court, ranging from attempted murder to aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated witness intimidation, stalking, criminal threat and other charges dating back to alleged episodic illegal activity between March 2020 and May 2023.
Several defense motions were presented during a hearing Friday, including motions for combined pretrial orders, availability of minor children during trial, limits on use of expert testimony without prior written reports and related pretrial hearings on admissibility and the possibility of the term “victim” not being used during trial with the term “alleged victim” in its place.
A status hearing is planned Wednesday.
