Emporia State University welcomed a host of high school bands from across Kansas to campus for its annual Marching Festival on Wednesday.
Emporia High received an Excellent rating for its show, “The Greatest Fairy Tale Never Told,” featuring music from the Shrek movie franchise. The Spartan Pride Marching Band was also second in the Black Division, bands with 51-79 members, for its performance.
Twenty high school bands performed, including Burlington, Osage City and Waverly. The ESU Marching Hornets closed down the festival.
