The Emporia High girls cross country team finished second at the El Dorado Invitational on Saturday.
Madison Evans led the Lady Spartans taking third (20:14.30). Emma Beatty was seventh (20:37.71), Ivanna Orduno took 12th (21:55.79), Bailee Van Sickle finished 23rd (22:50.75), Allison Curtis took 26th (23:07.32) and Reagan Thompson was 30th (23:27.06). Emporia High recorded 66 points as a team, 11 behind team champion Augusta.
The Emporia High boys finished fifth as a team with three finishing in the top 20. Gideon Lowery finished eighth (17:13.99), Xaden Delgado took ninth (17:20.44) and Kasen Van Sickle was 17th (17:57.88). Edgar Gomez finished 28th (18:30.97) and Brayden Shaw was 42nd (20:17.01).
Emporia High will travel to Topeka for the Centennial League Championships on Saturday hosted by Washburn Rural.
