Emporia landowners are encouraged to apply for grant funding that could help replace some of the city’s dilapidated homes with new houses.
Housing Specialist Jeff Lynch tells KVOE News this is officially for areas covered by the city’s Neighborhood Revitalization Area — which covers a lot more territory than a lot of people might think.
Grants through the Kansas Housing Resource Council’s Moderate Income Housing Grant Program can provide up to $40,000. All cities statewide are competing for the funds.
Residents wanting information can email jlynch@emporiaks.gov or call 620-343-4285. The application deadline is Oct. 25.
