Formal charges are pending in Reno County after a Eureka resident was arrested on suspicion of drug distribution leading to death.
The Hutchinson Police Department says it arrested 37-year-old Shay Kane on Wednesday. Kane was arrested on a probable cause warrant for the alleged distribution as well as 13 different incidents of unlawfully using a communication device.
Hutchinson Police says Kane’s arrest follows a fatal drug overdose in Hutchinson in June. Other details have not been divulged.
The investigation continues. Residents with information are asked to call Hutchinson Police at 620-694-2828 and reference case number 2024-21459. Questions about the case are being referred to the Reno County District Attorney’s Office at 620-694-2715.
Hutchinson Police worked with the Greenwood County and Butler County sheriff’s offices during the investigation.
