Emporia’s annual Economic Outlook Conference is coming this week.
The event will be from 10:30 am to 2 pm Friday at the Flint Hills Technical College Metcalf Building, 3301 West 18th. Besides the regular updates on construction, banking and finance, real estate matters and local economic trends, this year’s conference also includes a Society in Balance panel about the connections between labor, well-being and economic challenges at the household level. Emporia Police Chief Ed Owens and Assistant City Manager Tayler Wash will lead that conversation.
The conference is organized by Wichita State University’s Center for Economic Development and Business Research. Cost is $110.
