Emporia High junior Elise Eckert is heading back to the Class 5A State Golf Championships next week.
Eckert qualified for state for a third consecutive year after placing third at the Class 5A regional hosted by Blue Valley Southwest at Brookridge Golf and Fitness in Overland Park on Tuesday. Eckert shot a round of 81 finishing eight strokes out of first place and five behind second place. Kelsey Shull finished 32nd with a round of 123.
Eckert will begin play on Monday in the Class 5A State Golf Championships to be held at Salina Municipal Golf Course in Salina.
