It’s just about go time for KVOE’s annual Drive for Food.
All donations benefit the Salvation Army and Emporia High Spartan Stop. The Salvation Army’s food pantry shelves have been depleted or bare for weeks now, and virtually everything you can think of is needed — breakfast cereals, most canned vegetables, canned fruit, refried beans, canned tomato products, pasta sauces, soups, nonperishable snacks and ramen noodles.
Capt. Mylie Hadden says there’s a broad demand for nonperishable food items this year.
There is still time to get your address on the list. Simply call KVOE at 620-342-1400, email kvoe@kvoe.com or message the Bluestem Farm and Ranch text line at 620-342-5863 with your address. KVOE staffers and volunteers will then pick up your donations beginning after 9 am Thursday.
If you would rather drop off your food either Wednesday or Thursday, we have a number of dropoff points in Emporia:
*Both ESB Financial locations, 801 Merchant and 1111 Industrial
