If you’re planning to use the Emporia Police Department’s lobby over the next week, be advised the facility is closed as repairs and renovations continue.
The temporary closure begins Saturday and continues through Oct. 24, meaning both the lobby will be closed and the wall phone will not be available. Residents needing officer assistance over that period need to call 620-343-4225 for non-emergency matters so a member of Emporia Police or the Lyon County Emergency Communications dispatch team can meet outside the building. Residents needing emergency help need to call 911.
Residents needing Municipal Court can still go to the lobby, although there is a temporary route including stairs — not the nearby elevator. People with questions or accessibility issues for Municipal Court matters can call 620-343-5666.
