Spring Hill’s rushing attack was big in its 49-7 victory over Emporia High Friday night at Spring Hill District Stadium.
Spring Hill scored late in the first quarter to lead 7-0, but the Broncos capitalized on three short fields in the second quarter to lead 28-0 at half. The Broncos tacked on three touchdowns in the third quarter to trigger a running clock in the second. Emporia High got a 20-yard touchdown reception from Micah Gray to Rylan Crowell with 5:45 remaining.
Crowell had 66 yards of total offense to led the way for the Spartans.
Emporia High (0-7) hosts Junction City for Senior Night next Friday at Welch Stadium. The Blue Jays defeated Washburn Rural, 17-0. The RV-Doc Pregame Show begins at 6:30 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
