The Emporia High volleyball team went 3-2 and took fifth in its home tournament on Saturday.
Emporia High started the day 0-2, losing to Bishop Carroll (22-25, 25-18, 25-19) and Seaman (25-19, 25-14), but bounced back with wins over Lawrence (25-16, 25-19), Bonner Springs (25-15, 25-14), and Wichita North (25-23, 25-20)
Head coach Ping Wang said it was a solid, but long day for the Lady Spartans.
Emporia High will now prepare for sub-state action coming up on Saturday. Seedings and pairings will be announced on Wednesday.
