For the first time since 2003, the Marais des Cygnes Valley volleyball team has won the Lyon County League Tournament.
MdCV needed three sets to defeat Lebo in the championship match Saturday afternoon at White Auditorium. The Trojans handed the Wolves their third loss of the season.
MdCV head coach Melissa Criqui said this was a special win for her program.

Regionals are coming up on Tuesday for all schools in Classes 3A and lower. MdCV will host a 1A-Division II regional at Hartford with St. Paul, South Barber, and Chetopa. Lebo will host a 1A-Division II regional with Caldwell and Waverly. Hartford will travel to Argonia. Burlingame will host a 1A-Division I regional with Northern Heights, Rural Vista and Bishop Seabury. Olpe will travel to Flinthills, while Madison will host a regional featuring Colony-Crest, Sedan and Marmaton Valley.
