The Emporia State soccer team couldn’t climb out of a 2-0 hole in a 2-1 loss to Northeastern State at DeLoache Field in Tahlequah, Okla. Sunday. NSU tallied the only goal of the first half with less than 10 minutes to play in the period outshooting the Lady Hornets 11-7 at the intermission. The offenses didn’t generate nearly as many chances in the second half with just eight total shots, but NSU scored less than two minutes into the second to lead 2-0. Hadlie Lowe picked up her third goal of the year to cut the deficit to one, but ESU couldn’t find an equalizer in the final 30 minutes. E-State (5-5-2, 3-3-1) continues a four-game road swing heading to Nebraska-Kearney Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
