Hearings are coming in Lyon County District Court this week for several Emporia State University professors initially terminated as part of the university’s reinvestment process two years ago.
Michael Behrens, Rob Catlett, Dan Colson, Charles Emmer, Amanda Miracle, Michael Morales and Lynette Sievert were initially fired as part of ESU’s Framework for Workforce Management approved by the Kansas Board of Regents in September 2022. Emporia State then terminated over 30 faculty members, many of whom were tenured or tenure-track professors.
The Kansas Office of Administrative Hearings decided to reinstate the professors.
Hearings are at 1:30 pm Friday before Judge Courtney Boehm.
