In a matchup between teams unbeaten in district, Chase County came out victorious 54-6.
Madison captured the first score of the game when Colton Isch raced into the endzone with a 17 yard rush with 4:39 left in the first.
Luke Budke would tie the game on the ensuing kickoff, finding pay dirt from 70 yards out.
Chase County found themselves with momentum after the touchdown, parlaying it into a scoop and score by Chris Rangel to go up 12-6 with 3 minutes to play in the first.
Budke would find the end zone on a 36 yard rush to end the first quarter 18-6.
Each team struggled to score in the second, before Wyatt Griffin gave Chase County a 26-6 lead with a nine yard rush.
Wasting no time to begin the third quarter, Griffin would find Budke on the first play of the second half on a 39 yard pass.
A Madison turnover led to another quick score when Griffin found Landon Doty through the air to make it 42-6.
Griffin would find Budke and Doty again before the game ended with the Doty touchdown with 9:54 to play in the fourth.
Griffin ended the night with 5/7 passing for 97 yards and 75 yards rushing for five total scores.
Griffin credited his head coach for the right game plan.
Head Coach Derick Budke was thankful to be on top of the district, a feat that had not been achieved in recent memory.
Chase County improves to 6-2 and will face Sedan on Thursday in the first round of the playoffs.
Madison falls to 5-3 and will square off with Cedar Vale-Dexter.
