Fall is a transitional time in general terms, and that is certainly the case for the Emporia Farmers Market.
The season is transitioning from regular market activities to the now-traditional winter market after Saturday’s activities at Seventh and Merchant. And Market Coordinator Trisha Fullerton says the regular season was — pun fully intended — fruitful for the market and its vendors.
Fullerton says it has been several years since the market got above $100,000 in sales during the regular season.
Winter markets take place the first and third Saturdays from November to April at Waters Hardware.
The Farmers Market is also getting ready for its Soup-A-Palooza, coming Nov. 5 to the Fairgrounds Anderson Building. Dine-in and carry-out options will be available for soup and dessert. The event is the market’s only fundraiser of the year.
