Emporia State wide receiver Tyler Kahmann has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week after a record-setting day for the Hornets last week. The sixth-year player out of Haysville, Kan. reeled in 19 receptions for 296 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-35 victory for #14 ESU at Nebraska-Kearney. The 19 receptions were two shy of the single-game ESU record while the 296 yards tied a Hornet record and set a new MIAA high mark. The five touchdowns tied the E-State record set by Ray Ray Davis in 2013. He is now the MIAA record holder with 48 career touchdown catches surpassing Jake Soy of Northwest Missouri. Kahmann is now 31 yards away from breaking the ESU career receiving yards mark of 3,213 yards. The #11 Hornets return to action Saturday hosting Fort Hays State. Pregame coverage begins at 12:00 p.m. on the Hornet Sports Network. Listen locally on Mix 104.9 or online at kvoe.com/listen.
